What was the purpose of the squirrel in the begginning of the chapter? Is that one of the subplot things you were talking about that you had to work into the story?
Maybe I am just reaching out to nothing, but was the squirrel Dumbledore's animagus form? I can't remember if you've ever let us know what his form is, or if he even has one. And since you called the squirrel "Nutters," I just thought it would kind of make sense. But, I"m probably just letting my imagination run wild.

Just now when Harry was talking about the Willie. I reminded me of a scene from the book "Grant Comes East" where President Lincoln sits with a Confederate Private while the boy dies.

great opening for the story!
but one thing just didnt seem right to me...
in SoB ( if i remember correctly) almost every time when someone was killed and Harry had anything to do with it he felt really guilty and needed the help of his Family to get out of it.
so how now all of a sudden when he tried to help save the Auror by pressing the bandade on the wound - he suddenly understands that he is not the main one to blame?

Yes! You're back. Thank fucking god! Hahaha...love the mood you created at the very end w/ Harry and Hermione...it invokes certain powerful imagery. I'm glad that Sunrise is turning out to be just as good or better than Sunset. Great chapter.

Dangit. I knew I should've opened this before going to sleep this morning.

What can I say about this, other than that it is a brilliant beginning.

This chapter had a lot of Harry-Hermione time, so I'm hoping that next chapter will include some Team Weasley, Draco/Luna, and, of course, the Dumbledore Update.

Brillant start, and I really loved the parts with the Patil Family, and Lavender. Mighty embarassing to have my eyes get all teary in class, even more so as I wasn't supposed to even be on the computer...
