An interesting addition to this story line. One I enjoyed greatly.

I have to agree that in one sense - what happens when they come out of their bubble is not really part of this story - it might be a separate story, but it's not this one.

However, you *have* opened a can of worms with having Wiccan-based magic also operative. I have to expect that Luna's contagion will have no effect on that type of magic. It will also likely stunt the external world's progress in the sciences, as at some point, if there truly *is* a genetic component to Magic, then there must be some interface to traditional physics, and without those energies being available, they'll be locked from fully understanding the world around them.

In addition, as far as I remember, you've basically left off the effect of removing humans from the magical ecology - the Giants, the Dragons, the Veela, the Goblins - how will these populations evolve, and will they end up impinging on the normal world - after all, in OotP, it's shown that dementors have an effect on Dudley, even if he can't see them.

However, I do think there's another story here. This population of about 20,000 people will be a barely viable population, genetically. They've cut themselves off from the rest of the world - all of it, not just the Magical World. In addition, I believe you opened up the possibility that they are going to live extremely extended life spans - long enough that they will live to see the Avalon Bubble collapse.

This is going to mean *HUGE* changes in the way they live. Their population is going to expand. It's going to have to expand, very quickly. They're going to run out of things for potion supplies - I sure hope the supplies for the contraceptive potion are very common, and that they have crops growing already. They're going to need a *LOT* of that stuff! Families like the Twins', and what Harry's *could* be, will likely become more common, out of necessity. And, for that matter, how *WILL* things progress with Harry's family? How do they tell the children they're so limited in where they can go? Sure, the island is 150 miles long. When you can apparate, when you spend hundreds of years on it - will they *stay* content? Will they rebel in some manner, since they *won't* be able to leave, even if the parents were willing to allow them to?

Honestly, what happens once the Bobble pops is, as you say, not that important, as it's essentially unpredictable. But what takes place *inside* the Bobble - now that's got possibilities. *smiles*

And if you decide not to pursue them, in favor of Mutant Storm, and so many many other story ideas I'm sure you two have... Why, that'll be fine, and maybe someone will do a fanfic of your fanfic. That'll work nicely as well.

(Honestly, I can see a community of spin-off fanfics from this concept - stories of people in the concentration camps, people on the run from the Magical World... This is literally a world-changing event - and we only see one small part of it. I can understand your focus on only those parts relevent to the thread you were picking at - but there's a whole tapestry to explore!

Thank you, though, for this - this is one of the best "Harry Ends The Magical World" stories I've seen!

Really enjoyable but then all your writing is.

I was very surprised to see another installment of this, actually. Happy, but surprised. :-)

Thanks for sharing this with us.

Yeah! This is really great!

You've very nearly taken us up to the point where the first Wizard's Fall started, so yeah. I think it would be hard to add any more episodes.

Great story. You paint a truly disgusting picture of people like Percy, Dumbles, And one off the worst to stand by and watch, Charlie.

I can't say I wouldn't want to see a 'in the future' story, just to see what you guys come up with. Let it bubble around and see what happens.

And hey! I am not a minion. I'm at worse a mercenary thug for hire. :)

This was an excellent addition to the series, moreover, I love that you have been gifting us monthly with you writing. May your Muse continue to inspire you.

I do wonder... is Luna's foresight inspired in any way by the prescient vision of Paul Atreides from Frank Herbert's Dune? As I rememeber his ability allowed him to see things that could be, to bear witness to all the possible futures and the the intersections at which major changes in the timeline could happen.

It was a thought that occured to me.

Either way, excellently done. As always.

I absolutely agree with the idea of you folks not writing an after-Avalon effect continuation to this story. You already have the end of this in Wizards Fall, and the entirety of the other stories in this series has been about the slow build up and happenstances that turn Harry and company away from the Wizarding world, and then destroy it. Frankly, I could see, MAYBE, one more story eked out of the time in between Down the Rabbit Hole and the original Wizards Falls. But even if you don't do another one, this series is one of my favorite of yours because it deals most realistically with the fact that because of the way that Harry grew up, and that he was extremely powerful, and he wouldn't be a normal member of society no matter what without real support. Keep up the fantastic work!

Another excellent story! I wonder though - is this the last story in the Wizards Fall universe? It seems like there is not so much more to tell..

Orion posted a comment on Saturday 20th June 2009 1:19pm

Very nice. I'd not expected more from this universe. You might consider adding it to the list on your message on the front page.

Thanks for the update, it's always great to read anything you post.

Excellent continuation of the parts you have already written. Now you just have to work on your Llama Drama

Another good one. I really like these wizard fall episodes. I can however only see at most two more then again I'm not you. One just before they start the plan and one after Dumbledore died. I would like to see Harry raid the Hogwartz, Beauxbatons and Black family Libraries. What happened to Flitwick and Vector could Harry find them to teach at the new school? A couple of other Witch and Wizards such as Half bloods that hadn't been capture that were medi-witches or wizards.
Can alan rickman be dressed in a llama costume in Azkaban for the next one? Please?

- Very nice.

- Especially Molly's death scene, that was touching and very well paced. You took a character that I don't care for and made her into the loving mother that JKR claimed but did not show her to be.

- Very well done.

I like this as the end to the Wizards Fall series. The last one could have been the last because you finally got Luna to the island, but now you've got the island fully expanded and the nanites in production so you've almost come full circle to the first story.

Keep on putting out the good stuff (which includes your X-men Cross).

Very interesting addition to the series. I love them all, and watching Luna in this one was especially fascinating.
I loved what Harry did to Su Li. That was hilarious!

Once again you have truly outdone yourselves. Thank you for providing all of us who read and enjoy your stories with another great one.

A great addition to a great series. If this is to be the final chapter, everything was handled wonderfully. Thank you!

I reread the first installment of your saga before reading this latest segment. You skillfully enlarged the story to keep it in line with your premise. It was a fun and interesting expansion. Thanks to you, the lama's, the donuts, and everything else you use as your muse to expand the Potterverse.

Well, despite this being the last one, I am still pleased.

You've created quite an awesome sub-universe of the original that Rowling created. I've enjoyed each and every story in this universe and if this is the last one, so-be-it. (Just so long as it's not your last story ever!)

Great stuff, Bob. I'm so happy to have read it.
