Brilliant job, Bob & Alyx! Lucius Malfoy as a reluctant Hogwarts ghost was genius - definitely an innovation. I admire your persistence in completing a story arc of this magnitude. Best of luck with the stories to come!

Cheers,
Mike [FP]

I really loved reading this series Sunset and Sunrise. I will wait for your next fanfic. I hope you will write another long novel.

I really like crossovers or fic based on other mythology or magic views such as A Norton M Lackey JRR Tolkein Anne MacCaffery. fond of fic that interacts with ancient pagan faiths Japanese Chinese Norse Kelt Native American Aborigine.

Thank-you both so much for all the hard work, blood, sweat and tears, you have put into both "Sunset" and "Sunrise".
I have now read both several times and recommended them to others several times.
You gave me the precious gift of your imaginations, a gift I value. I have enjoyed many hours of reading pleasure because of you.
I am sad that this particular journey is over, but I am keen to read whatever wonderful stories you create next.
Once again, thanks. Your hard work and effort is deeply appreciated.

One of the best written fictions I've had the pleasure of reading.

Thank you for providing us, your readers, with such and exciting and captivating universe to experience with you.

Very well done.

Wow. I can't believe this is finally finished. It was worth the wait. This is one of the best stories that I have read. I have it saved as a word document and the Sunrise is 1653 pages though it would probably be a bit more if I had wider margins.

I love your characters and how they matured and changed, by the war, the aftermath and the in the epilogue. I loved the little snippets in the epilogue with each of the couples in the brotherhood -- especially the Lupin triplets. That was so cute! I can just picture the little wolf cub biting her brother's leg!

Keep up the excellent writing. While I am sad to see this story end, I look forward to your next story. And if you decided to do a few short stories set in the Sunset/Sunrise universe, I am sure that they would be eagerly welcomed.

I'm honestly not surprised that Remus and Tonks was surprised at how many kids. I'll get around to telling you on how many pages the whole Sunrise came out to a bit later. Haven't printed it from this site. I'm a bit surprised if Mr Weasley didn't have any more kids. Congratulations and thanks for the story.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I am ashamed to say I have only reviewed this story a few times over the past couple yearseven if when I started reading it (only a few chapters written in sunset) I felt there was something good in the works.

Well! It has been way over "Good" and in the range of "bloody fabulous". It's definitely among the five best HP fanfic stories I have read over the past 5 years (among a few thousands).

Even if I don't agree with all your characterizations, you always make it enjoyable to read. Your story is incredibly deep, well written and well structured. I am waiting for book 7, but I am almost sure that, in my mind at least, the "real" Harry Potter story will be Sunset and Sunrise.

I hope you will continue to gift us with your stories even if it will be difficult to top this story.

So, once again, thank you for your work and I go read the whole thing again.

Lostchyld posted a comment on Wednesday 6th June 2007 11:04pm

lol, I didn't take the time to copy the whole thing, but I put 7 chapters taken randomly from the story into Word. That totalled 267 pages which would average between 35 and 40 pages per chapter totalling 1200 and 1300 pages for the story. Numbers rounded to catch errors.

Point of interest, of the chapters I copied, the longest was around 70 pages and the shortest was around 30.

I can't say that I've ever read a fanfic quite as unique as this one. Honestly, I'm almost disappointed that it is a fanfic because you've changed the world so much from Rowling's vision. I have to admit there have been times I've put off reading chapters in favor of something that won't make me think quite as hard.

Well done. I expect I'll be lurking for your next story.

Cheers.

-Caet

Sunrise is 1472 pages long!! Whew!

Superb, brilliant, wish I could actually live in the worlds that you create 'cause you make them so alive I feel like I could reach out and touch them, especially living in Ireland.

Sad it's all finished, but can't wait to see what you come up with next. Hope you are both keeping well and that Bob is OK.

excellent it is hard to say goodbye to a good friend and that is what this story was a good friend and to be honest it was the best you have written so far. Your stories is like a fine wine they get better everytime you read it. that way a type of story that you can read many time and get something new put of each time

Really disturbed yet still grinning at the disclaimer. Giggled over who was pregnant and Luna riding her dragon. I was cheering Hermione on when she attacked Amelia over the executions. State sanctioned murder is not the way to go. Sniffed over the fact that this is the end. It's been a wonderful ride and you balanced the sugar of the babies with the humour of their various talents. Plus the Weasley twins' wedding was superb. Absolutely fantastic story. Can't wait to see what you write next.

It was a fantastic ride - as are all of your stories. Great job - I loved it! Now I'll have to read it beginning to end again...for like the fifth time but now there is actually an end.
